Only three weeks left???¿¿??¿???

3 augustus 2013 - Doussard, Frankrijk

Before I start this story I just want to state that I'm really proud of my mum for reading these blog posts and even replying in English. You're a star too mama. <3

ANYCOW, I can't believe there are literally only three weeks left until I go back to the Netherlands. That means I have been here five weeks. That's thirty five days. Which is roughly 1/194th of my life. Okay I'll stop now. Thing is, I think in that time I've kind of changed as a person? As in, become a bit less scared of people and also even lazier than before. I know what you're thinking, I didn't know that was possible either. In any case, it's kind of neat to see that something I didn't know I could do improved my self confidence and stuff.

Incoherent musings aside, I managed to catch a cold. I know, France, land of sun and wine. (Side note: today I tossed roughly ten empty wine bottles in the trash. Bottles that were given to me by people who left and then were emptied by me because I haven't stooped low enough to sit here drinking by myself. People saw me throw the bottles out, though, so they probably think I'm an alcoholic. Woop.) Well, turns out it's also the land of adorable bacteria ridden little kids with grubby hands that touch everything and probably contaminated me. That, or someone sneezed me in the face when I wasn't paying attention. Joy.

By the way, you know what animals really scare me? Swans. They're pretty freaking huge and if you've ever looked into those cold, black eyes, you know they're pretty vicious too. When Maud was here we went swimming in the lake and we were just tossing a ball and probably scaring the scales of some fish by doing back-flips and stuff and then just. These two swans came swimming by like they were on a casual Sunday stroll and I tried to swim to the shore but they were in the way and then one of them stared straight at me and it was mildly emotionally scarring. Then there was this bad-ass dude who casually let them eat bread from his hand. Good on you man, level up. You get plus four points for bravery.

I also made a girl cry. She and her family were leaving today, and she said she was going to miss me and that the Miniclub had been the best part of her holiday. I feel... validated.

End of text Maaike out.

    Helleuw boefje,

    Don't care about the swan.
Animals don't know better, they are programmed to fight or to flight and occasionally they just die.

As did our little 'second hand' cock.
He tried to survive, but in the end nothing was left but a bunch of feathers ...
    Let him rest in peace.

Looking forward to meeting you again.
I've planned to get you back from France together with Mum.
It will be nice to rejoice and to spend some days together in the mountains of France.

    See you later, alligator !!!

    Love you,

I'm so proud of my llama! <3
See you soon! aka you'll see the fexter soon!

PS, you should've saved all the wine for our french alcoholic ;)
PPS, it would've been wine, presents and taboo (the game that was never bought all semester long) the first night back with all of us reunited.
